The best reuben I've had in a while! Can be a little pricy but I think it's worth it. I will be back to try more of the menu. Plenty of seats to eat there or you can take it to go. I like the friendly, local vibe I get here.
Great healthy place to catch a quick deli meal. Service was outstanding with lots of deli selections for whatever your preference is.
Good sandwiches and good service 2pm is a good time to get a sandwich it wasn't a lot long wait it was Quick service they have soups, salad, grilled sandwiches and special sandwiches I love the variety. The atmosphere is art the have live music later on the day and I am guaranteed to come back and try a grilled sandwich. And I was one of the customers that asked for it to-go and still ate it here that's how good it is
Stopped by New World Deli around 6 pm on a Friday evening! Parking was pretty straightforward, as there are some spots available right in front (on Guadalupe), and also along W 41st St. In terms of setup, it's laidback - you order/pay at the counter and then seat yourself. Plenty of space inside, even as it started to fill up more over the evening. Curried Chicken Salad on a French Roll ($7.95 for a half, 4/5) - Great portion for the price! I ordered the "more than a half" option, and it lasted me two meals. - You can customize the type of bread you'd like, some with an added fee (sourdough +$0.25, gluten-free +$1.50). The other options of wheat, french roll, and jewish rye have no extra cost. I got the french roll and thought it paired nicely with the ingredients. - Light, refreshing mix of flavors. - Note: it's a cold sandwich, so if you're looking for something warm/hot, maybe try one of the grilled options. My friends ordered the Turkey Pastrami and the Turkey Sandwich with Apple, Brie, and Fig Jam + side of Sweet Potato Fries. Overall they weren't super impressed with the sandwiches (3.5/5). Both enjoyed the fries, but thought they were on the expensive side (total order with sandwich + fries came out to be $20-25 after taxes and tip). Ambiance wise, there was live music which in theory would've been a nice touch. However, they were performing so loudly that in order for my friends and I to hear each other, we basically had to shout at each other over the table lol. Not sure if it was just a one-off experience, but it definitely detracted from the dining experience and we ended up leaving earlier than we initially would have because of that. Excluding the loud live music, NeWorlDeli is still a solid spot - although the food didn't blow us away, the prices are affordable for the portions you get. Definitely a small business/mom&pop shop worth checking out if you're looking to grab a casual meal!
I recently discovered this place and instantly fell in love! The vibes inside are so cozy, and occasionally they have live music. It's the perfect lunch spot for a sandwich! The veggie burger is AMAZING and I like that they have both impossible and black bean option. The only thing I would suggest is having a couple more vegetarian options for sandwiches.
Lovely little neighborhood gem with amazing sandwiches, soup, and desserts. This place is easy to miss, especially given how fast everyone is driving on Guad these days. But, it's definitely worth the effort to stop and check it out. The sandwiches are super delicious, and you can't go wrong whatever you choose. They also have fresh soups, and I wholeheartedly recommend the broccoli cheese soup. On one of my more recent visits, I also tried their key lime pie which was the perfect balance of refreshing and sweet for this warm Austin autumn. NeWorlDeli is so deeply ingrained in the character of Austin and Hyde Park, and they offer live music performances, stand-up comedy nights, and great art by local artists too. The staff is super friendly too, and can answer all your questions about the menu. So, take your time, explore this little gem, and come back for more.
I have been to New World Deli a few times and each time my food was hot and fresh. The staff was so friendly. And the crowd for both shows I saw were so polite and attentive. I LOVE their French dip. Even the hoagie it's on is perfect. Not too much bread. I didn't feel like I was still hungry after either. My friends got the hummus sandwich and loved it! Family owned and run. Check it out!
As a New England transplant, it's often that I'm craving a good ol' Deli sandwich. NeWorlDeli is the spot. The Chicken Curry Salad (with the works) is a must. In fact, it's hard to order something different every time I go because this choice is just THAT good. Sandwich sizes are substantial and served with a pickle spear. Ambiance is welcoming, often with live music. Beer, wine, baked goodies, and soups are also found on the menu. I will say, though, the Clam Chowder had too much dill and, while I'm glad to have tried something new this visit, I will not get again. Great location for a neighborhood walk afterwards, too.
